IRS 2023 Video Contest: Breaking The Stigma

1. Substance use disorder or drug addiction is a recognized medical brain disorder.  It destroys a person, families and breaks societies.

2. The aim of this video contest is to raise awareness and promote better understanding about drug addiction. It is important to reduce the misconceptions and stigma associated with addiction so as to create a more compassionate and supportive community for those struggling with substance use.

1. 1st prize: RM2,500

2. 2nd prize: RM1,300

3. 3rd prize: RM700

4. 2 Consolation prizes RM250 each.

1.  To register, eligible participants shall email the following details to irs2023@oaptar.com

• Full name

• MyKad number

• Contact number

• Email address

• The subject line of the email is "Breaking The Stigma Video Contest"

2.  Follow ISSUP Malaysia's Instagram @issup.malaysia and Facebook account @InternationalRecoverySymposium.

• Set your own account to "Public".

3.  Post your video with caption on your TikTok, Instagram or Facebook account. Tag @issup.malaysia and @InternationalRecoverySymposium in your posts.

• Use the hashtags #irs2023kuching, #issupmalaysia, #oaptar and #recoverysymposium

4.  Promote and share your video throughout the contest period.

1. The contest period shall commence from 15th April 2023 until 15th May 2023 ("Contest Period").

2. The organizer may at its sole and absolute discretion vary or extend the Contest Period at any time without prior notice to any party whatsoever.

3. The contest is open to Malaysian citizens between the ages of 18 to 50 years old.

4. Each video must be within 30 to 60 seconds duration.

5. Videos can be in any language, but must have BM or English subtitles.

6. You can use any format you like - a documentary, a personal story, an animation, or anything else that inspires you. More importantly, your video can change the way we talk about addiction and create a more empathetic and supportive society.
